Support Anniston, AL Sunday Beer Sales Referendum

The City of Anniston has a Bill in the Alabama House of Representatives Rules Committee to allow the Anniston City Council to consider and act upon the authorization of Sunday alcohol sales, on and off premises. If the Alabama legislature passes this bill, the City of Anniston can hold a referendum for Sunday alcohol sales. The City sees Coldwater Mountain as a vital economic engine, and they want you to be able to drink a cold one when you come to ride your bike. The City needs YOUR help to get the bill through the legislature. You do not have to be an Alabama resident to show your support of this bill.

Please take a moment of your time to let the State of Alabama know that you want the ability to purchase beer in Anniston on Sundays. Send your letter to the following representatives:

As Anniston City Planner Toby Bennington puts it, “This is an Anniston visionary initiative that has an appeal beyond just the ability to sell alcohol on Sunday alone. You are part of, and the leaders of, those many current and future users of the trail networks and your influence and encouragement can only help us as we take this step to broaden our market and service abilities to many of our ecotourism visitors. Opening up a seven-day opportunity for all recreationists, citizens, visitors to have choices and to make his or her own decision within a community is what this offers.”
