NWGA SORBA and SAM SORBA Prepare for Trail Grand Openings

nwga logoOur chapters have been busy building trail, and two Grand Openings herald good times for riders in Dalton, GA and Dothan, AL. NWGA SORBA will hold a Grand Opening Saturday, April 30 at 3 p.m. at Raisin Woods Mountain Bike Park. Fast and Loud, the first machine-built trail at the park, is the creation of Barry Smith, of Barry Smith Trails. Preston York, of Flowmotion Trail Builders, is putting the finishing touches on 8 miles of sweet singletrack, known as Beaver Creek Trail, for a May 1 Grand Opening in Dothan.

“This new fast and flowy trail will offer an entirely new riding experience at the mountain bike park. We are very grateful to the Lyndhurst Foundation, NWGA SORBA’s members, and local contributors for funding this great addition to our trail system in Dalton,” says Larry Vanden Bosch, President of NWGA SORBA.beaver creek

SAM SORBA’s President, James Wells, says, “These eight miles at Beaver Creek are just the beginning for the 396 acre Forever Wild property in Dothan, AL. We plan to add even more trail. And, we’re very excited to be hosting the Alabama State Games Mountain Bike Championships on June here. This is the first time in 11 years that the Alabama State Games has held a mountain bike championship, and we’re glad they chose our trail.”
