Home Bike Workshop Pics

Postby DrDanBatchelor » Wed Oct 30, 2013 5:56 pm

I'm building a new modern home and am looking for a good design for a complete bike workshop room off of the garage for all my bikes. Place your bike workshop pics here whether they be primitive neanderthal or modern sophisticated. Lets see them all.

This probably will only help in the what not to do area but this is the mess my bike workshed is currently in this morning. My biggest recommendation would be to be sure you have adequate space for now and future. Sure it is nice to have everything I need within a half a step but it sure is a PITA to work around everything. Image

Nice and tiddy. I've got that type of room but mine doesn't look like that. Ha

My shop is also off my garage in an area of about 11x11 with a door to the outside. The door is nice since I can wash the bikes just outside of my shop. Also, my shop is more of a general workshop and not bike specific. Here are some general thoughts. I will try to post a picture of my workbench (hand built by me).

High ceilings are a big plus. You can suspend multiple bikes and not hit your head on the saddles or bars.

A small utility sink would be nice for dirty spare parts.

Ceiling fans are a must for those hot GA days.

Lots of good lighting.

Lots of electrical outlets.

Finished concrete floors are nice to have.
