Tsali...Full Suspension or Hardtail

Postby KevinBoyer » Fri Aug 17, 2012 2:42 pm

Just made our reservations at Tumbling Waters Campground for October for 4 days and was wondering what bike I should take. My Jet 9 FS or my Yelli Screamy HT? I'm sure either one will be fine, but just curious as to what opinions others might have.

I prefer my hardtail out there over my 5 Spot, but the Jet would be a fun bike for sure. I guess I'm no help :)

The Jet would be fun but you certainly don't need FS. That trail system is build for SS 29er IMO.

Hardtail ftw. Also when on the left loop make sure to take the overlook trail option. It has a ridiculous shear drop off right off the trail. Kinda scary but it provides for some great views.

I'm with dirtywill. If the HT is a SS, take that, otherwise, if you're riding gears anyway, rock the FS.

I like the hard tail at Tsali. Is there a reason you can't take both?

My Yelli Screamy is 2x10.

I'm planning on taking my wife's bike also, so that's why I need to decide which one of mine to take. I can only fit 2 bikes on my Yakima Beddy Jo. Plus I still need to get all of our camping gear in there also.

+1. Love to ride Thompson and Mouse Branch on the fully rigid SS.

Bring something rigid. It's smooth as glass out there.

Most of my riding has been at Yargo, Chicopee, and Tanasi. I like the sound of "smooth as glass".

Add fast as an adjective while you are at it.

A bunch of comedians :) I enjoy the riding at the 3 places I mentioned, but my wife is going to be with me on this trip so it will be nice to ride something a little smoother for her sake. We're going to try and fit a ride in at Dupont also.

I rode Right Loop this morning on the fully rigid SS. I think you could get away with a cross bike there.
