Anyone going to this? I live about 20 minutes from the speedway. I won't be racing but plan on being there to see what all goes on. I'd like to put some faces to names if anyone is going!

I'll be racing at 10 am, along with FarmerG and Hillbilly. Bob Kuhn will also be racing then, but in a different class.

I would think Sadlebred will be there. I don't think I know thatsnogood, but I assume he will be there. Plenty of others, but I don't know if they visit the Sorba website.

Should be a fun race to watch, but you ought to go ahead and race. Only $20 for one race and an extra $10 if you want to do a second race. If you haven't raced CX before, the CX4 class would be fun. Lots of different levels of racers, and plenty of people racing mountain bikes in CX4. Single speed is also a popular class for both CX bikes and mountain bikes.

Just sign up and do it. All in good fun.

Course is part of the Speedway, snakes through the trees on the outside of the course...flyover bridge...around the lake...back snaking through the infield back onto the course.

Get there early and you can ride the course prior to the Masters race at 10:00 am.

I haven't ridden since July, ha. How big is the crowd normally? It's supposed to be really nice this weekend. Could I just do the evening one Saturday? Do they give medals for the Saturday race?

Sunday is the State Champs. Probably some minimal prizes but no medals for Saturday.

C races have had 50+ riders lately....lots of fun and regardless of where you are in the pack you'll be racing some guys and having fun.

I should be there. I am gonna try to do the Saturday C's race and probably both C and SS for Sunday.

White Lemond Poprad '05
Black Surly Karate Monkey Single Speed.

Faster Mustache kit. Chuggin beers during and post races. :-D

Oh also for anyone who is interested, there will be bike polo going on in Savannah saturday night. Ask the loosenuts crew or find me. We are coming to the race Sat night and going to play polo afterwards to hang with a few fellow cyclists in a different realm. Polo+CX=fun.

If I did CX4, do I just race for 30 minutes and see how far or how many laps I go?

yeah. its a mass start and then everyone races for 20 minutes or so and they start counting down laps for you. just keep a heads up after a while when coming through the start finish area, and there should be someone counting down laps. if not, listen for a bell, which means last lap.

They time the first two laps and use that to determine the total. You'll have a lap counter at lap 3.

I'm guessing you'll do 4 laps (5 max) for the "C" race.
