Mayor Builds Trail

Postby kpvsr » Fri Mar 18, 2011 10:24 pm

Many thanks to the great Mayor of West Point. Over the last couple months he has been busy laying out and clearing an almost 1-1/2 mile addition to the Lakeside Trails and adding another 340' feet or so of elevation gain/loss.

There are a couple bridges yet to be built and some shaping here and there but it is being ridden as is with caution. Be careful if you ride it, some dips in their current condition could bend forks backwards and face plant you in a hurry if hit with some speed. Hopefully we'll have it complete in time for the Trek demo Saturday April 16th.

Be sure to thank Mayor Ferguson next time you see him out on the trails. He has worked long and hard on this latest addition.

Thanks Drew!!

That would be the one. The ends of the loop are about ten yards apart off Turkey Run just west of the microwave tower. It still needs some work and with the recent storms the whole place could use some clean up. We're working on a new map and trail intersection signs.

what trail system are we talking about here?
clearly it's entirely too technical...

Lakeside in West Point. Give it a try someday, I'd love to hear your opinion of it.

A little outdated but sufficient. It's not real difficult to figure out with the newer stuff not shown on the map but a guided tour could always be arranged.
