What tires y'all running for pine needle/leaf season?

Discuss frames, wheels, drivetrains, pieces & parts with other gearheads. Or talk helmets, shoes, & shorts with the fashion slaves.

lower tread-to-void ratio penetrates leaves better... I love tech talk.

Finally got my first real ride in on the DHF in the front. Holy schnikies. Grip for miles. Just grip grip grip. They roll like a bag of doorknobs, but the grip. Wow.

Now the Ardent 2.4 in the back seems inadequate.

I've been having pretty good luck with a Captain up front, and an Fast-track on the back. Good cornering in the pine needles and leaves, but the rolling resistance isn't a killer. Typically the rear tire will break loose first which is better than the front breaking loose first. I've run this combo for several years and on trails across the SE and as far away a Park City, Moab, and Durango.

If we're bumping this thread now, I ended up picking up a High Roller 2 and have been really impressed with the grip from it in all conditions. Current setup is a 29x2.3 3C HR2 up front and 29x2.35 3C Ikon out back. Grip for days regardless of trail conditions. The HR2 keeps surprising me with how far I can push it in the corners pretty much regardless of trail conditions.

I also run the same combo for an aggressive trail setup on my Banshee Prime. Very versatile.
