Best Place to Camp while riding FATS Trail System

Need recommendations on where to camp at FATS Trail System in Edgefield county. Any help much appreciated.

RAMBO always camps at the Petersburg campground which is about 15 min from the trail head.

Every time me and any of my other cronies go, we camp at Hickory Knob State Park. Yea its a little father away from Petersburg, " takes 30-35 mins from the campground to get to Fats" but the facilities are clean, you can drink beer without threats of being booted, for the rangers there leave you alone unless there really is a problem. You can come and go as you please any time day or night, no gates locking you in after 9 or 10 pm. But best of all, it also has its own set of trails, with one of the trail heads in the campground, and you can night ride Just my 2 cents

There is one trail right along the Petersburg campground if you want to ride at night or just one afternoon without the drive to FATS, but with all the available trails in Augusta, FATS is the must.

Petersburg Campground is great! Super clean showers and bathrooms! On top of the Bartrum trail and only a few minutes from FATS. I plan on camping there again at some point this year.
