CPR/First Aid Class

Postby davidmuse » Tue Mar 06, 2012 5:44 pm

Passing this on, if anyone is interested...

There's a CPR/First Aid Class this coming Saturday (3/10) at the Ocoee Whitewater Center. A few slots are still available. Email Ralph Heller ([email protected]) if you're interested.

A current CPR/First Aid cert is necessary for chainsaw certification in the National Forest. I'm not sure if you get a cert from this class or not, but it's also just generally good info to know.

I have taken this course and it is very good info to know, and hopefully not use, but I did use it one night around a weekend biking campfire when someone choked on a piece of meat. Depending on who is administering the course, I would think a certification would be mailed out. Mine was done through the Red Cross, and the chainsaw certification also has to be renewed every 3 years, but a cpr/first aid class is a prereqisit to that class.
