Wanting your opinion of riding Blanket's at night (from 930 to 11ish). Is it safe? Wife has seen people just sitting in cars in parking lot and is a bit nervous about biking at night. Obviously we'd be safer biking together at night but we are at different skill levels.
Are there any organized group rides like at Big Creek?

Even though you are at different levels I would not suggest you guys ride separately. I was out there one night jogging on my own and came across a creepy, shirtless guy. Scared the crap out of me.

I believe Outspokin Bike shop is doing some organized night rides at Blankets. I would contact the shop for more info.

Outspokin' has night rides at Blankets Creek every Wednesday at 7pm.

I would not ride Blankets alone at night. I think I'd be just as concerned about the parking area as the trail.

Did you go Wednesday? How many folks generally show up?

I was there this Wednesday and there were 5 of us. It's the first time I've been to their night ride, so I don't know if that's the usual amount or not.

Wednesday was our first ride this season. Very minimally publicized and we had 5 riders... had up to 10 or so last year, but we'd obviously like to have more. We try to do it weekly until the time switches back, but we don't ride when trails are closed or if there's some extremely bad weather (bitter cold - sub 20 degrees F).

For more info, call us at Out Spokin'. 678-483-0200.

Wednesdays conflict with half of the Big Creek night rides. You might get more riders if you moved it to another day (Tuesdays?).
