Love Your Trail at Tsali Work Party Weekend

Come on out the weekend of October 15th, and show Tsali some love. IMBA-SORBA and the Nantahalla Area SORBA chapter are hosting a mega trail work party weekend at the famed Tsali trails.  Over the past year the U.S Forest Service, Nantahalla Area SORBA, and IMBA-SORBA have partnered to improve this IMBA Epic Ride location.  Some great work has been done, but we need a large group of volunteers to help one of our newest chapters in the area.

Party at Bull and Jake Mountains!

When we work together, we can accomplish so much. IMBA-SORBA and the Chattahoochee Trail Horse Association hosted a work pary at the Bull and Jake Mountain Trail System on Saturday, Aug 6th. This workday marks a long tradition of volunteer maintenance at Jake and Bull Mountains between SORBA and CTHA, as the two groups have worked together on this trail system for several years. Many of our SORBA chapters got behind this effort, with members from Gainesville, Athens, Woodstock, NW GA, UC3, Upstate SC, Ellijay, RAMBO, OMBA, and Atlanta attending the event.

Middle Tennessee Mountain Bike Patrol Praised

The Middle Tennessee Mountain Bike Patrollers are out training and patrolling on a regular basis, always ready to assist those in need on the trail. The patrollers are low-key about their efforts, but they deserve much praise for their selfless devotion. It’s good to receive an email, such as the following, sent in by A.J.

Georgia Awards Recreational Trails Program Grants

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) recently awarded $2.1 million in Recreational Trails Program grants to 25 government agencies. The grants will assist with the construction and maintenance of trails and trailheads throughout the state. Four of the grants were awarded to projects for off-road cycling.

Bull and Jake Mountain Mega Work Party August 6th

Dry Creek Trail System Grand Opening

Please join Northwest Georgia SORBA and the United States Forest Service—Conasauga Ranger District for the Grand Opening of the Dry Creek Trail System on Saturday, June 25, starting at 11:00 a.m. The trail system provides 25 miles of shared-use trails for equestrians, mountain bikers and hikers. The multiple loop system also connects to the Pinhoti Trail on Johns Mountain and near the East Armuchee trailhead.

SORBA MidTN Gets Approval for Cane Ridge Trail System, Responds to Montgomery Bell Storm Damage

Metro Nashville Parks is collaborating with the SORBA Middle Tennessee chapter, for a new trail system at Cane Ridge, Park. SORBA Middle Tennessee helped design the trails, and will assist in the construction and the maintenance of the trails. Phase 1 construction, slated to begin this summer, creates two miles of trail. Once all phases are complete, the park will boast nine miles of mountain bike trails for riders of all skill levels.
