Well folks. It's done.
After nine months of hard work, over 2,600 volunteer man hours, a few surprises and paperwork galore, the newest trails at Blankets Creek are ready to ride!
The fundraising campaign that was vital to completing the Van Michael Trail and Mosquito Bite in such a short time frame has attracted over $60,000 in cash contributions. A lot of generous people have donated money, food and swag to raise the funds to rent the equipment and pay Pro-Trails to cut the trails.
But, the critical ingredient to make it happen was the overwhelming volunteer effort. 196 different people have spent as few as 3 hours and as many as several hundred hours each to give us an incredible mountain biking trail that is drawing rave reviews.
On behalf of the SORBA Woodstock Board of Directors, we thank everyone for all the time, work and money you have given to make this new trail project a tremendous success.
