The first weekend in October was Paulding SORBA's Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day and Festival, and it was a huge success! About 20 kids showed up for the event. Dave Senecal, Paulding President, did a great job of showing these kids how to ride obstacles in the grass and hold a line. Dave then chased them around the course to work on speed, to the sound of screams all around! After the safety talk, obstacles, and speed skills were done, these kids followed Dave onto the Mount Tabor trails
for a fun 1.5 mile trail ride. All the kids were happy to be out riding in the dirt.
We also had a time trial on these same trails for the Georgia Youth Mountain Bike League (GYMBL), and those kids were smokin' fast! The day ended with pizza from Stevie B's (thanks for the special deal). Dairy Queen in Hiram gave free vouchers for sundaes to all the kids and our local chiropractor/ massage guru was on hand.
A fun time had by all, can't wait till next year.
