Be Active in the Forest, Participate in CoTrails!

Want to make a difference in the Chattahoochee National Forest? Become active in CoTrails and attend the 2013 kick-off meeting on Saturday, January 26 at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area's Island Ford Visitors Center. You'll hear updates on the work they've done to date, participate in workshops, and help set the 2013 agenda to continue to achieve the objectives set out in the CoTrails Strategic Plan.

The day begins at 10:00 AM with optional hikes with leaders in the morning on the trails along the river. Bring your own lunch or partake of a cookout. The afternoon CoTrails General Meeting and Working Sessions will focus on introducing and discussing trail Issues & Opportunities. Working with detailed district maps, we will have a hands-on review and discussion of trails that have Issues that need to be dealt with, as well as Opportunities that will enhance our trail experience. The meeting will adjourn by 4:00 PM. Trail partners (volunteer organizations and clubs), land management agencies, and land conservation and stewardship organizations will have displays to share information about their work and how to volunteer and get involved.

Mountain bikers are second only to hikers in how often they recreate in the forest, yet they have fewer areas in which to do so. Improve your riding experiences by becoming involved with CoTrails!
