Southern Mountain Bike Summit Returns March 22nd-24th

Join your mountain biking friends and fellow advocates at the second Southern Mountain Bike Summit, March 22nd-24th, 2013 in Woodstock, GA. Woodstock’s City Center, including the Elm Street Theater, will house Summit meetings, and the Taylor Randahl Memorial Trails at Rope Mill Park and the Blankets Creek Trails at Lake Allatoona will be the trails of choice for riding on Friday and Saturday.

Friday, March 22
Starting at 8:30 am, Friday’s program is centered on our land manager partners.

Presentations include speakers from the following agencies:

  • US Army Corps of Engineers
  • US National Parks Service
  • Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs
  • Georgia State Parks
  • The City of Tallahasse
  • Forsyth County, Georgia

Saturday, March 23
Starting at 8:00 am, Saturday’s program includes a SORBA Board meeting and seminars geared towards effective advocacy.

Group rides at Blankets Creek Mountain Bike Trails.

After the group rides, Summit attendees are invited to the Greenprints Alliance’s 4th Annual Trailfest for live music, dinner, and family-friendly activities in downtown Woodstock.

Sunday, March 24
On Sunday, the fun moves to the North Georgia Mountains, with a ride in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, beginning at Mulberry Gap Mountain Bike Get-A-Way. Anyone with an interest in outdoor trail-based recreation is invited to attend the Summit.
