NEW - The Summit has been expanded to offer more educational programs!

Wednesday, March 21 - "Chainsaw Demo" class by Forest Applications Training, Inc. (One day demo class) This program is designed to demonstrate the most current chainsaw techniques for felling, bucking, and limbing trees with an emphasis on safety and how it increases production. There is a classroom portion where the instructor provides an overview of personal protective equipment (PPE), techniques, different cutting scenarios, and proper saw maintenance. This program then features the instructor evaluating, felling, bucking, and limbing a tree while describing the various cutting techniques he is using.  No scoring involved. Certification for the one-day course is awarded.

Thursday, March 22 - "Strategic Planning for Great Mountain Bike Trails" - how to get the trails you want in 5 years, by IMBA Trail Solutions. (full day class) Learn to assess the trails you have, create trail plans from local to federal levels and follow through to completion. Classroom and field work.

Friday, March 23 - Land Manager Day includes the two-hour "Guidelines to Quality Trail Experiences" presentation by IMBA Trail Solutions. "Quality is difficult to define but easy to recognize when a trail design merges with the desired outcomes. Good trail design ultimately protects resources while simultaneously providing riders with the outcomes they seek." There will be break out sessions, and programs designed specifically for land managers and a guided ride in the afternoon followed by a social in the evening.

Saturday, March 24 - Advocates Day includes break out sessions, presentations, SORBA Board of Directors Meeting, afternoon ride and evening social.

All programs, classes and sessions are designed to meet the increasing demand from our chapters, land managers, and mountain bike communities for more and better trails!
