The Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA) is the largest nonprofit mountain biking organization in the Southeast. Our members work with land managers in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee to create trails and trail systems for mountain bikers and other users to enjoy. Through advocacy, education, and recreational opportunities, SORBA carries out its mission to promote land access, trail preservation, and new trail development in order to enhance mountain bike touring, racing, fun, and fellowship for all mountain bicyclists in the southeastern United States.

We have partnered with the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) and now represent over 4,000 members who help steward miles and miles of great trails in a seven-state area. The best riding in the Southeast is found on trails maintained by our volunteers. Our members love singletrack, rocks, roots, and logs, and we employ IMBA's trailbuilding practices to ensure that our trails are sustainable and challenging.

SAMBA Receives IMBA/Osprey “Let’s Build Trails” Grant

SAMBA, serving the Mobile, AL area, is excited to announce that they received their first grant since forming as an IMBA-SORBA chapter.  The chapter was awarded an IMBA/Osprey “Let’s Build Trails” grant of $400.  The money will be used to buy tools and dirt.  SAMBA is looking forward re-building and re-routing some trails that have been heavily damaged throughout the years from storms and neglect.
 

SORBA Woodstock Hosts Six Hour Race to Sunset

Teams and individuals will descend upon Blankets Creek Mountain Bike Trail System in Woodstock, GA to compete at one of the most popular races, The Six Hour Race to Sunset, on one of the most popular tral systems, Blankets Creek, on Saturday, August 9th. The race is a collaboration between the title sponsor, Outspokin' Bicycles, the promoter, Mountain Goat Adventures, and the local IMBA-SORBA chapter, SORBA Woodstock. Pre-registration is advised, as the racer limit is set at 375.

The Helen Rotary Donates $500 for Trails in White County, GA

A $500 contribution from the Helen, GA Rotary Club kicks off the funding to build 20 miles of natural-surface trail as Helen Rotarypart of the 1,000 acre Outdoor Recreation Area planned by the White County Commission.
