The McDowell Tech Trail School has released their upcoming schedule of classes and it is exciting to see such a diverse and robust calendar! Many of these classes are helpful for our chapter volunteers to get out and effectively make a difference on the trails they steward.

All classes are held in Old Fort, NC, in association with the McDowell Tech Marion campus. 2 – 3 day class only $71.30 per person. 4-5 day class $126.30 per person.

5-day Basic Trail Construction and Maintenance with USFS Chainsaw Certification with Lisa Jennings

July 17-19:
3-day MTB Optimized Machine Built Trails: Hybrid Machine Class with Trase Sowell, builder of Lower Heartbreak Ridge Trail

July 24-26:
3-day Hand Built Trails: Intermediate, with Jon Lane, Director of the G5 Trail Collective

Aug 3-4:
2-day Trail Crew Leader Training, with Walt Bready of Trails B-Ready

September 12-13:
2-day Invasive Plant Identification and Remediation for Trails, with John Odell of Appalachian Land Stewards

October 16-18:
3-day Rock Work for Trails, including moving heavy loads, with Master Builder Fred Lashley

October 23-25:
3-day Pump Track Design and Construction, with Peter Mills of Elevated Trail Designs

November 13-15:
3-day Pump Track Design and Construction,with Peter Mills of Elevated Trail Designs

December 4-6:
3-day Pump Track Design and Construction, with Peter Mills of Elevated Trail Designs

December 7-8:
2-day Trail Crew Leader 2-day Training, with Walt Bready of Trails B-Ready
