Join fellow Board members, executive committee members, chapter members, and staff for the 2023 SORBA Board of Directors meeting to ride, enjoy local amenities, hang out with fellow mountain bikers, and help shape the future of SORBA. This year’s meeting will be held alongside the NEABA Coldwater Mountain Fat Tire Festival.
In addition to the festival and board meeting, we have an optional educational course on Friday led by Ross Martin, NEABA Board Member and Assistant Professor of Geology at Jacksonville State University. His research focuses on trail systems, hydrology, and geomorphology. He is especially interested in the interplay between the three. He has published peer-reviewed research on the physical impacts of trail users, fluvial erosion, and sediment transport.
This class will go over the science of trail planning and building, soil science, hydrology, a GIS overview, and a field trip to show and talk about trail erosion. This class will be an additional $50 and has 25 available slots.
Special thanks to NEABA for hosting this meeting!
