We are excited to welcome you to the 28th edition of BUMP N’ GRIND — Alabama’s biggest and best mountain bike race weekend at beautiful Oak Mountain State Park.

Bump N’ Grind is a true mountain biking experience, with big elevation, hand-cut singletrack, and the signature Blood Rock descent. This year, we’re adding new trails to the iconic course and will feature the longest continuous descent in the park, dropping from the top of the Peavine Ridge all the way to the bottom. BNG uses a classic “big loop” course that takes you on a tour of the entire Oak Mountain trail system, and offers a uniquely beautiful classic mountain biking experience with big climbs, blazing downhills, sweet flow and backcountry singletrack.

2022 will also showcase the return of Saturday short-track racing as part of a 3-race Omnium event, bringing back a short, high-intensity spectator-friendly race to open up your engines, along with a Saturday Super D for XC racers and the timed Air D for gravity-oriented big air racers on the Lightning downhill flow-jump trail.

You can find all the race details and more at www.bikereg.com/bump-n-grind-race-weekend and www.bumpngrindraces.com.

Everyone who registers before the end of April will be entered into a drawing for a set of Industry Nine Hydra Hubs.

This will be a family-friendly event.  We will have kids races Saturday, a kids activity area setup in race central, and other family-friend entertainment within park including a large beach, marina with paddle boats and canoes, a farm with petting zoo and horseback riding, the interpretive center, and the Alabama Wildlife Center.

For accommodation we would recommend the campground or cabins at Oak Mountain State Park.  Also the Fairfield and Hampton Inn in Pelham are good choices.

Bump N’ Grind is the primary source of funding for BUMP — the organization that builds and maintains trails at Oak Mountain and 2 other trail systems in the Birmingham area. Oak Mountain is our crown jewel and we can’t wait to show it off again. Come join us!
