Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day (#TKMBD) is on the horizon and it is time for you to start preparing. This years official date is October 2nd but you can promote your in person or virtual event for the entire month.
Created in 2004 and recognized by the U.S. Congress, TKMBD introduces the joy of mountain biking to the next generation. Hundreds of thousands of youth have discovered and celebrated the joy of pedaling two wheels on dirt at TKMBD events. Many have gone on to become passionate riders, volunteer trail advocates, and even high school mountain bike racers.
TKMBD events can be hosted by almost anyone in any country. Participating groups include SORBA chapters and affiliated mountain bike clubs, community organizations, scouting groups, youth programs, schools and others. Or, gather your family, friends and coworkers to host your own, local ride. Every mountain biker is invited to participate!
Partners can help IMBA promote Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day by encouraging their communities to take kids out to the trails and/or featuring young riders close to their staff/brand. Please use the hashtag #TKMBD & tag @imba_us in posts.
This year SORBA and IMBA are using the recently updated Golden Volunteer app to promote each individual event. Events must be registered before September 22nd in order to receive your TKMBD kit which includes number plates, snacks, stickers, etc. Use the link below to register your event.
